Welcome to Phidippides Track Club

Yep, track season is already here - come run with us on Tuesdays and get faster!

Phidippides Track Club one of Denver's oldest running clubs and the only club in the area dedicated to track-specific training for runners and fitness enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. Our mission is to enhance quality of life, promote social interaction, and develop physical fitness and wellness through running for fun and competition. Where other clubs feature race series and/or weekly training runs, we focus primarily on one thing - scheduled interval track workouts plus some social activities designed to improve the knowledge and enjoyment of running and training.club shot 2010

Members receive a 15% discount at area running stores (see links to their sites below). The cost savings on a couple of pairs of shoes could pay for the annual dues alone! See the Register page for more details.

Please join us Tuesdays at 5:40 PM, March through October at the track next to Belleview Elementary. Whether you're a sub-5 minute miler or prefer a more leisurely 12 minute/mile pace, we have members running at your speed. Not sure of your speed, we'll help you find the right group to run with - come join us for our next workout! We have made some tweaks to the workout timetable this year - see the workout page for the details.

From Ed the Prez - Thanks Matt!

Big thanks to Matt Steinberg for volunteering for the unenviable position of President for the last few years. We really appreciate ALL of Matt's hard work and contributions to all that's Phids, especially coordinating the membership gear/clothing items, acquiring free race entries, providing running schwag of all sorts for the annual cross country race prizes, doing email blasts, getting tons of publicity for club etc. to name just a few things... Hopefully he can now focus on running and getting faster!

Upcoming Weekend Long Run

Does anyone want to host a weekend long run? Let me know and Jay (for the website) and we'll get the word out. -Bill Rodgers

Track Etiquette Reminder

Remember to move to the right lanes when slowing down during recovery turnarounds and especially when you hear "Track" called by a faster runner behind you. We want to make sure everybody has a safe and productive workout and that nobody gets run over - ouch! Please respect other runners as we are all here to support each other and have fun too.

Also, try to stay with your pace group during the workout. If you're feeling faster than your group after starting then it's fine to move up to a faster group during the workout. Likewise, it's also perfectly OK to drop back to a slower group if you're feeling slower or tired during the course of the workout. The idea is to stay with a group so the track doesn't end up getting scattered with a lot of individuals dodging each other!
